There were several comments on how small the Harvard contingent was at Lake
Placid. The dearth of fans certainly had something to do with the poor
showing of the Crimson down the stretch run (not including the away SLU
series), which gave fans little hope of success over the tournament. The
size of the band, however, had a better reason -- half of the band was in
Nashville, TN for the women's basketball team's NCAA tournament appearance.
I'm sure that the dozen or so there gave it their best shot, but they were
simply outnumbered by far. Sounds like the crowd had a good time,
especially the Cornell fans! The fans and bands are what make ECAC games so
much fun (besides the hockey, of course!).
