In a news conference Saturday, Coach Walsh said he turned down an
outstanding offer from Denver to remain at Maine.  He spoke of the
outstanding people of Maine and the University that offered him a
contract extension after his first two years and a losing record.
 
Scuttlebutt hasn't figured out why he is *really* staying or for that
matter why he *really* was looking to go.
