MARQUETTE, Mich. -- Chris Marinucci scored his first two goals of the
season and Derek Plante broke a 3-3 tie with six minutes left in the
third period to lead Minnesota-Duluth to a 4-3 win over Northern
Michigan Friday night.

The victory snapped a 14-game losing streak for UMD in games played
in Marquette's Lakeview Arena. The loss for NMU was the Wildcats'
third straight and fourth consecutive game without a win.

Northern Michigan, which outshot the Bulldogs 33-25, got goals from
Tony Szabo, Joe Frederick and Jason Hehr.

FYI...Northern Michigan is now playing without Dallas Drake (55
points) who broke his foot in practice last Wednesday. He's expected
to be out a month.

Justin Doherty, Northern Michigan
