A CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
                        HEAD WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY COACH
                        UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA DULUTH
 
The University of Minnesota Duluth is seeking a highly qualified
individual to serve as head coach of its Division I women's ice hockey
program, which begins play in October of 1999.   Responsibilities include
scheduling, recruiting, marketing, and administration of the program in
preparation for the first season of varsity play.  In addition, the
varsity head coach will serve as the coach of the UMD Club team for
the 1998-99 season and will assist in the transition from club to varsity
status.  The date of appointment will be July 1, 1998.
 
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree, have a minimum of 3 years
head coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level and with
women, a working knowledge of NCAA regulations, and a commitment to
athletic excellence in an academic environment. LETTERS OF APPLICATION
MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 15 AND INCLUDE A RESUME AND THE
NAMES, ADDRESSES AND PHONE NUMBERS OF 3 REFERENCES.
