Here it is 2:30 Sunday Afternoon and I still haven't seen this posted (I was
waiting for someone more knowledgeable than me to do it), so here goes:
In a stunning upset, St. Cloud State University defeated Northern Michigan U.
at Marquette, MI. Coupled with CC's loss to UAA and Wisconsin's sweep of MTU,
that leaves Minnesota in the driver's seat (unless, of course, they lose to
UM-D - and even then they remain in first place) but really tightens up the
rest of the conference.
UW has the best road record in the WCHA (I think) and travel to CC next
weekend for what could be a huge series. Right now, the Badgers are tied with
NMU in third place only one point behind CC.
You know, talk about divided loyalties - being in Wisconsin and being able to
watch some Badger games on delayed broadcast, I have to be a Badger fan. But
it would sure be nice to see "lowly" CC continue their excellent year and
maybe even make the phinal phour. I want to woof for both of them. Does that
cancel out or does it jinx both teams?
