Before UNH:  Top goaltender in Canadian Midget AAA 1992...in 37 games, posted
seven shutouts and a 2.17 goals against average...holds Eastern Shore District
High records for goals against average and shutouts...earned league MVP
accolades in 1991-92...earned first team midget all-star honors in 1990-91 and
1991-92...member of Nova Scotia Select Team in 1989...also pitched for the
baseball team during his prep days.
 
At UNH:  Won first career start over Air Force, 6-3, on Nov. 7, 1992, making
16 saves...posted a 3-2-1 mark in six games last season...went 2-1-0 in
Hockey East action...defeated Providence College before a sellout crowd at
Snively...made a career high 32 saves in 5-2 win over the Friars, Nov. 14,
1992...was in net for Wildcats' 9-6 victory at Boston College, stopping 26
shots.
 
Personal:  The sone of Gerald and Laura Cavicchi...major is undeclared...enjoys
basketball and swimming when the ice is out...summer jobs include teaching at
hockey school and construction...like most music, but his favorite is U2...
favorite pre-game meal is lasagna...chosen by Montreal Canadiens (10th pick,
236th overall) in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft...born March 20, 1974.
