The eighth-ranked Penn State Icers survived an early Halloween weekend
scare, and upset the third-ranked Michigan-Dearborn Wolves 6-3 Friday night
at the Penn State Ice Pavilion.  The Wolves scored early in the first, but
the Icers evened up the game just 28 seconds later.  Dearborn would score
just over a minute after that, and led 2-1 after one period.  Then, about
six minutes into the second, the Icers seemed to be possessed by the spirit
of last season's 33-1-0 team, as the feeding frenzy returned, with Penn State
scoring 3 goals in just 90 seconds, and suddenly the Icers were up 4-2.  Each
team would score once more in the second, and then the Icers netted one early
in the third to close out the scoring.  The Icers are now 2-0-0 on the season,
with sophomore netminder Jeff Crispino picking up the victory.  Dearborn
goaltender Brian Guillery made 45 saves (some of them while standing on his
head, it looked like), but ended up with the loss.  The Wolves are now 4-2-0.
The two teams will face off again this afternoon at 3:30 at the Ice Pavilion.
