A couple things.......
1. The Buffalo News had a feature story on Derek Plante, Minn/Duluth
   player and finalist for Last year's Hobey Baker.  He's in camp
   with the Sabres and signed his contract yesterday.  He just
   started skating (due to recovery of knee problem) and from the
   article he had an impressive scrimmage.  So much so that the
   Sabres took him to the west coast where they play their next
   3 games.  His quickness impressed John Muckler, head coach.
   His size is the big ?????  The article mentioned that Plante
   looked so good that many of the players were mentioning how
   good he looked - and that is rare in NHL pre-season camps.
 
2. The USA today yesterday named Minnesota as the "healthiest"
   state to live in - in the USA.
 
These two things should make Carol happy.
