COLGATE GETS 2ND TITLE IX SUIT:
A second lawsuit has been filed against Colgate, charging the
Hamilton, N.Y., school with discriminating against women in its
athletic program. Five female athletes are suing Colgate in
federal court to get the school to elevate the women's ice hockey
club team to varsity status. The new case was filed as a
class-action suit, representing all current and future female
athletes.

U.S. HOCKEY HAS MAINE FLAVOR:
Ice hockey is looking like a Maine event for the 1994 Olympic
Games. Six of the 25 players named Wednesday to Team USA played
for this year's NCAA champions, the University of Maine. Maine
lost only one game in 1992-93 (42-1-2) and was No. 1 all season
except for one week. Maine's best player, Paul Kariya, is expected
to be the star of the Canadian Olympic team.
