Well, Boston Globe sportwriter Bob Monahan had this piece run in
today's paper:

"Lake Superior State's Jeff Jackson is a new name in the UMass
hockey coaching sweepstakes. He joins BC ass't Joe Mallen, Springfield
Indians coach Jay Leach, and Brown Ass't Brian Durocher, who reportedly
just had his first interview with UMass AD Bob Marcum.
Jackson, 37 (some stuff deleted) is expected to meet with Marcum
ay UMass this week. Marcum did not return calls yesterday about Jackson's
situation.
Maine coach Shawn Walsh, who just received a two-year contract
extension (note: not four years as I posted earlier this week-sorry- --Sid)
was asked Monday on Dale Arnold's WEEI radio show who he thought would be a
solid man for the UMass job. He mentioned Jackson and Leach, his former
assistant at Maine.
Yesterday Jackson left LSSU to come East. His secretary said he was
going to Orono for Sunday's Shrine East-West College Hockey Classic at
Maine, where Jackson wants to see Laker D Mike Smith play."

Looks like it's more wait-and-see, wait-and-see.
