In an attempt to rectify this oversight by the founders of the GLI I suggest
in order to qualify for an INVITATION your schools location should not be
farther than 82 miles from a Great Lake. Why 82 miles? This is foresight,
because in the state of Michigan you are never more than 82 miles from a
Great Lake and in the event that a new college is build in the Great Lake
State they will get an automatic invitation. So now any college with in 82
miles of a Great Lake gets a bid. Some how this seems to exculsive. Let's
just call it The Large Body of Water Invitational. O.K. now to get an
automatic bid you school just has to be with in 82 miles of a large body
of water *OR* if you state has atleast 10,000 inland lakes you get a bid
because if you connected all those lakes together I'd call that a large
body of water.*OR* if you state borders a state with 10,000 inland lakes
because if they connected all those lakes you would more than likely be
within 82 miles of a large body of water.*OR* if your school is located in
The Mile High State you get a bid because it is silly to expect a large
body of water to be way up there. So those are the guide lines for the new
Large Body of Water Invitational.
