Someone wanted to know what the atmosphere is like here in Providence
regarding Brown's bid for the Tournament. Taking my feelings aside (I'm
bouncing off the walls, which will probably make Res Life cringe),
people here are pretty mellow. What people out in the networld have to
remember is that athletics are not very popular here. After the
football team's winless season, there were (and still are) people who
belive that we should get rid of the football team entirely. I just
cringe at the thought that people might have said the same thing 4 years
agao, when Brown was 1-25. Basically, I think it caught everyone by
surprise, and unfortunately I don't think we're going to have a big
following for the games, outside of the band. My roommate is going with
the band,so there is a lot of jealousy in this room. I'll explain
later. As far as excitement right now, there is little, but I think that
once people realize what the hoopla is all about (by word-of-mouth)
people will either be VERY excited, or VERY dissappointed after Spring
Break (the upcoming week),which brings me to my complaint. As some
people may realize, I am the Gopher/Brown fan who posted his
prediction(s), and I will give you my personal complaint. While I fly
home on Thursday night, I miss the opportunity of going to see the
Gophers in Worcester. What's worse, is that I'mflying Northwest. Guess
where their main hub is, and where I make a connection on Thursday?
That's right, Detroit! AARRGGHH! I have thought of many plans of
posibly staying and "joining" the band for the game, but the problem is
getting home after Saturday. Any UMD fans driving to Detroit and back?
SO, my only chance of seeing either of my teams is ifthey go to
Milwaukee, where I will
sacrifie an arm and a leg, plus mortgage my future to see the games.
I'm just glad we're (Brown) there, and people here will realize
tomorrow what it means. Finally! Something to CHEER about on the
national level! Oh yeah, I already have my attire picked out for a
Brown-minnesota final. A Brown Sweatshirt with a Gophers T-shirt
underneath. I'veimagined this for the past two days. Well, I hope
people don't gettoo disturbed by reading all my postings. I'm just so
excited, isn't thatwhat it's all about?

Go Bruno! Hasta Luego,
Go Gophers!
