Well, in tonight's game at Colgate's Starr Rink, the Clarkson Golden
Knights reverted back to early season form and lost a game they should
have won, 5-2.

Colgate goalie Jason Gates made 42 saves on 44 shots as Clarkson went
only 1 for 11 on the power play. Clarkson goalie Chris Rogles played well
stopping about 31 shots but 3 of the 4 (nonempty net) goals were very similar
as Clarkson lost a corner battle and that led to a point blank shot for the red
raiders.

Same old story as earlier in the season, offense struggle and the defense
let Colgate have a ton of point blank shots. Colgate plain outworked the
Knights and won most of the corner battles and the defense was rather weak, in
contrast to in its now-snapped 5 game winning streak.

Marko Tuomainen scored his 16th of the year to make it 3-1 Clarkson midway
through the second. Guy Sanderson scored a powerplay tally early in the third
to make it 3-2. With 10 minutes left, Colgate broke Clarkson's back with a
point blank shot from the slot that beat Rogles. Colgate's Cronin added an
empty netter with 3 seconds left to seal the 5-2 win.

EPILOGUE (or is it Prologue?)
Colgate is now in an 8th place tie with Dartmouth with 10 (?) points.
Clarkson tumbles to 7th place (17? pts) only a point behind UVM and Dartmouth
and 2 pts behind 4th place SLU (assuming Brown holds on to win).
Next weekend is a key for the Knights as they host the 2nd place RIP
(yes folks, that was intentional) Engineers who were losing handily to UVM at
home.
