Wisconsin swept an important series at St Cloud.  Next week
Minn-Duluth plays at Wisc in a big showdown of the top two
WCHA teams.  Minn-Duluth is four points ahead of Wisc but the
Badgers have played two fewer conference games.
 
In the series against St Cloud, Andy Shier and Dan Plante each had
4 goals on the weekend.  Defenseman Barry Richter chipped in with
4 assists on the weekend.  Jim Carey is now the man for UW in the
nets as he played both games again this weekend.
 
Friday night's game was close all the way.  Wisc had a couple of
2 goal leads but St Cloud always came back.  In overtime, Grant(?)
Sjervan made two big saves to keep St Cloud alive.  Finally Plante
cashed in his 2nd goal of the game to give Wisc the win.  Saturday
night's game was not as close.  Note that Wisc came up early goals
in all three periods.  That can really demoralize a team.
