But the NC$$ could set up standards for athletes receiving academic
scholarships such as 'the average GPA of athletes receiving academic
scholarships must be >= the average GPA of non-athletes receiving
academic scholarships'.  The rule could also be applied sport by sport
to eliminate the intelligent hockey player being averaged with the
dumb football player.  (The sports were, of course, randomly selected :-))
 
BTW, are *all* type of financial aid taken into consideration
including need-based aid?  If so, is the NC$$ trying force schools to
only have rich, dumb, one-sport walk-ons?
 
Life would be so much simpler if people adhered to the spirit of rules
and regulations rather than trying to get around them.
