In what was clearly their best game of the year, the Clarkson Golden
Knights demolished the St Lawrence Saints, 6-0 in Canton's Appleton Arena.
It was only the Knights' third road win of the season and SLU's second
straight loss (in which they've been outscored 16-4).

Clarkson started out fast with a goal in the game's first minute.
The play started back and forth but Clarkson was clearly dominating
the game. Then Hugo Belanger made one of the prettiest plays I've seen
all seaosn when he walked in, went around a diving defensemen, spun around
and made a backhand pass to a wide open Knight who fired it past SLU
goalie Paul Spagnoletti with under a mintue to go in the first.

Clarkson came out fast in the second and scored two goals in the period's
first 3 minutes. Referees Gallagher and Melanson then assesed Clarkson
SIX straight penalties but the Saints failed to score on any of them.
I believe SLU had about 9 or 10 powerplays over all but didnt score on
any.

Clarkson scored 2 more times in the 3rd and Dave Green nearly scored as
the game ended as Clarkson completed a 6-0 rout of the Saints.

EPILOGUE
Clarkson dominated the Saints in EVERY facet of the gmae. Offensively,
Clarkson's passes were clicking, they were outskating, outhustling and
outworking the Saints. Clarkson won most of the corner battles and were
forechecking with a vengance. Defensively, they looked as sharp as I've
ever seen them. The stood up at the blueline and prevented SLU from
getting any good opportunities at even strength. As for goaltending,
waht more can you say about Chris Rogles? He was simply marvelous. He didnt
have to face tons of great shots but when he did, he came up huge. He
made several key saves when the game was still close. As for the Saints,
their top line of Lee Albert-Greg Carvel-Burke Murphy just never got
going and their other lines were similarly ineffective. The defense
had trouble clearing the zone as well as keepoing up with Clarkson's
forwards. Goalie Paul Spagnoletti didnt look particularly sharp but
couldnt be faulted for the most part because Clarkson's goals were
point blank shots.

The two teams rumble next saturday at Potsdam's Cheel Arena.
