This will count as a non-conference game among Michigan's 34 game
schedule, thus improving the Wolverines official record to 13-3-2.

The score isn't indicative of the game. Alberta is a big, rugged
team and they battled with Michigan for 60 minutes. The game should
be classified somewhere between chippy and ugly -- although closer
to the chippy end. Several punches were thrown but nothing major
erupted. The most promising sign for Michigan was back-up goaltender
Chris Gordon having a good outing, posting 20 shutout minutes.

This was an exhibition game, not to be included in either team's
record. As expected, the game was again fairly rough with two
physical teams seemingly enjoying thumping on one another. It was
a good game to see for any advocates of half-shields (worn by every
Alberta skater), as a couple of teeth were removed from the blood
stained ice in the third period. I didn't see it well, but I can
only assume the Alberta player was struck by the puck attempting
to block a shot. He would have been fine with a full-shield.
As for the game, Alberta looked a little better and Michigan looked
a little worse (than the previous night) resulting in a 2-2 tie.
Michigan experimented with several line combinations, and Chris
Gordon was given another 65 minutes in net -- in which he looked
fairly good (several nice saves, one bad goal).

If anyone has the opportunity to see Alberta play, I recommend it.
The jerseys depicting a smirky little Golden Bear with a sh*t-eating-
grin are alone worth the trip. I also had the chance to meet Coach
Bill Moores, 100% gentleman and charmer.
