Michigan State tore up the British Columbia Thunderbirds tonight in
the first round of the Nissan Jeep Classic with a score of seven to
one.

Although the first two periods were fairly low scoring, and BC could
have theoretically come back to win it in the third, a major defensive
break down in the first four minutes of the third period allowed
the mighty Spartans to score three goals which assured them of the
win.

Michigan State was impressive to watch, and the winner of tomorrow's (or,
actually, later today) game (Kent State/UAA) is going to have their work
cut out for them if they want to win the Classic.

Michigan State player Anson Carter received the player of the game award,
and I feel it was well deserved.

Until next time...
