Air force opened with a power play goal about 5 minutes into the
opening stanza. Midway through the period, defenseman Tony Retka
surprized the warrior goalie from the blue line. Merrimack changed
goalies at that point. The warriors closed to within 1 with 13
seconds left in the period on a power play.

Air Force got the only tally of the second, again on a power play.

Air Force opened up a 3 goal margin, again on a power play early in the
3rd. Merrimack got their own power play goal midway through the
stanza and closed to within one a few minutes later with a two on one
rush.

Merrimack was unable to get the equalizer to send the game into
overtime.

After the game, Blue Line (booster club) President John Day presented
the player of the month awards to senior and tri-captain Eric Rice for
Offense, and Sophmore Beau Bilek for defense. Both had parents there
from twin cities and desmoines respectively.

Box scores tomorrow.
