Still on the subject of Canisius...
 
Their hockey team is known as the Ice Griffs, although I assume most or all
of the other athletice teams are known as the Griffins.  What's the story
with the variation in nickname?  What other schools can claim this?
(Note: true variations only.  Many women's teams are known as the Lady ___,
i.e. the Lady Wolverines or the Lady Volunteers.  I've always thought that
this distinction was silly, but that's another story...)
