This is a postscript to the earlier exchange today about ECAC Div. III, the
SUNY schools, etc. Our coach clarified the new ECAC small college structure
for me.

The SUNY schools now have their own division in the ECAC, so there is now ECAC
WEST, ECAC EAST and ECAC SUNY. There are about 14 teams in EAST (e.g., Babson,
U.Conn, Middlebury, etc.); 7 or 8 in WEST (e.g., Canisius, Elmira, RIT, etc.
If Hamilton is added, it would be the eighth); and 7 in SUNY (SUNY at
Binghamton dropped hockey).

This realignment has caused a change in post-season play-offs for the WEST and
SUNY. The West will have a 4 team playoff; SUNY will have its own playoff and
will not be part of the WEST play-offs. However, all regular season games
between WEST schools and SUNY schools will count in determining the seeds for
the WEST play-offs (interesting...)
