Thanks Kap. (Kap knows I am including this in my posting.)

at BOSTON UNIVERSITY 7, MERRIMACK 1

The score tells it all. The Terriers skated circles around Merrimack
all night long. In the first, freshman Jon Pratt got his third when
his pass from behind the net was inadvertantly knocked in by Brendan
Locke at 6:51. That was followed 54 seconds later by fellow freshman
Keith Tkachuk's 7th on the power play from McEachern and Sacco.
Kevin O'Sullivan closed the scoring in the first at 13:41 when he beat
Steve D'Amore, asists to McEachern and Koskimaki (on a line change).
The play was almost entirely in the Merrimack end and the bigger,
quicker Terriers did little wrong on their way to outshooting MC, 11-6.

It was more of the same in the second. First, D'Amore took a wicked
shot by Scott Lachance in the neck about seven minutes in, and it
looked like he might join the Goose in the balcony as Merrimack's second
injured netminder. But he stayed in to take more abuse. Dave
Tomlinson made it 4-0 at 10:02 from Koskimaki and Dion. Then Tkachuk
netted his second of the game on the power play at 17:41. Play was
getting very physical near the end of the period, and it ended
up with Tomlinson and Merrimack's Guy Ragault having a little skirmish
deep in the BU zone to the right of G John Bradley. (Ragault, an EE
major, is a member of this mailing list.) Both players exchanged three
or four punches - one player would throw one, then the other would
return it - but no gloves and sticks were dropped and quickly the
linesmen moved in to separate them. Each player received 2 for high-
sticking, 2 for roughing, and a misconduct. That suddenly moved Guy's
PIM total from 0 minutes to 14 on the season, third among the Merrimack
leaders. :-) BTW, Guy says that as he hadn't been getting many shifts
in the game (playing 3rd-4th line) and he knew he would be going off,
he realized it would be good to take Tomlinson with him. That's not
Guy's game - he's more of a defensive forward who was sent to the box
only once in nine games last year as a freshman - but as it took him
awhile to get Anderson to give him some playing time this year, it
was good to see him stand in there against Tomlinson. (It didn't
    hurt that he's 6-4, 215 and Tomlinson is 5-10, 184, either.)

At 5-0, it was really over entering the third the way BU was dominating
the Warriors, but on the power play Agostino Casale (11th) toom a pass
down low from Matt Hentges and ended Bradley's shutout at 2:33.
Peter Ahola (3rd, PPG) at 6:09 from Lachance and Ed Ronan, and Phil
von Stefenelli (1st) from McEachern and Tkachuk at 16:14 closed out
the scoring on Mike Doneghey, who had come in from the bullpen for
Merrimack to start the third. Final shots were 41-20, with BU's
John Bradley making 19 saves and being tested very little, while
Steve D'Amore stopped 22 over the first two periods and Doneghey
played well in saving 12 in the third. Merrimack, which received
only two PIM against New Hampshire, was hit for 35 in this game
(24 for BU) as the Terriers went 3 for 6 on the power play.

Oddly enough, Merrimack, which now has played in the Hockey East
game with the fewest penalty minutes (4, as both MC and UNH were
called for one minor each last Saturday), has also played in the
HE game with the most penalty minutes (158, vs. Northeastern last
year in the 8-4 Warrior win that had to be called with 2:36 left).
