In all this discussion about "strength fo schedule" and who is best
there seems to be an implicit assumption that the strength of a team
is a constant throughout the season and also implicitly that strength
is made up of some basic (physical ?) ingredients. Not quite true.

Some teams actually improve throughout the season; some aren't so
psychologically motivated at one time as another ... and the list goes on.

Note the big drop by LSSU after the games at OSU. Certainly not the
same team as they were in their other games this season.

Might as well get my other biases out also. Why even have playoffs; what
was the rest of the season for? (Not just hockey, but also roundball,
and fb is trying.) But they do TEND to get out the teams that are
better at the end of the season. The NCAA champ will be either the best
or the luckiest of the two teams that are playing that game - not
necessarily the best in the land, though that will be the assumption.

Aw, enough biases - more fun to just enjoy the games, whoever is playing,
and the so-called poorer teams can put on a great exhibition at times, even
against the "best".

Anyway, I like Lake Superior to go a ways, if Madeley is healthy. I
carry that bias from an early season game - but maybe they aren't as
strong relatively now as then.

Enough from me!
