In a previous post, Dan Kessler asks about the state of Michigan's dominance
in the college hockey top fifteen.

Dan, you picked a bad time to leave Michigan. While the Spartans of MSU have
always been a hockey power, the University of Michigan hockey program has
rebounded back into the scene, thanks to Red Berenson. The team is now
playing with the dominance that Red experienced when he was on the UofM team
years ago. (THANKS RED :-)

CCHA hockey is top notch. I have watched every Michigan home game this year,
and the quality of all the CCHA opponents has been surprising. Even sleepy
Illinios-CHicago has gotten itself a goalie and some defense--good enough to
beat UofM, MSU and Lake Superior State! Bowling Green has reappeared late
this year, beating UofM TWICE in two games, tying and beating MSU in two games.

WCHA hockey is still top notch, as it always has been. I haven't seen much
of WCHA teams play, except for Minnesota, who lost BADLY to UofM early this
season :-), and Mich Tech in the Great Lakes Invitational.

I look to see great games in the NCAA Championships, and I also predict that
a team from the WCHA or CCHA will become champ this year. (I hope its from
the CCHA...if the Michigan team shows up to play...)
