Officially dedicated in on Jan 14, 1972 at a cost of 2.6 million, the MTU
Student Ice arena will be rededicated Friday night.

A resolution to be passed by the MTU board of control on Friday, will
Officially change the name of the 4,200 seat facility to the

     John MacInnes Student Ice Arena

In honor of the Late John MacInnes
Huskie head coach from 1956 thru 1982. John Passed away on
March 6, 1983, at the time of his death he was the winningest
coach in college hockey history with 555 victories. The "STUDENT"
