Many people on the list have commented on Brendan Morrison and on his
chances of winning the hobey. However, I saw something earlier today on
the list (besides being a Clarkson fan) that makes me want to make another
push for Todd White. It has to do with the goalies. It was said
earlier, that the top five goalies with save percentages in the country
are all in the ECAC. That can be attributed to the possibility of less
scoring than in other leagues (though I don't know for sure), or it could
be that the ECAC just the best goalies in the country. (Gulp!!).
Whatever, the reason, this definitely makes Todd Whites' numbers more
impressive than they already were. He is averaging over a goal a game,
and over 2 points per game. Clarkson has obviously not played a 'soft'
schedule so Todd can stack up points, having a PWR of 2. Also, Clarkson
has played fewer games than Michigan. But, if Todd can score so many
points against goalies that are the best in the country, it makes me
wonder if he is the best player in the country. I would say YES!!! If
not the best offensive player, than definitely the best two-way player.
Todd is scoring goals against Koenig of Union, Thomas from Vermont, and
others. Goalies that are ranked in the top five in the country in save
percentages. My vote (if I had one) would have to go to Todd White. I
can see where Morrison would garner a lot of votes as will White. It
should be interesting to see what happens.
