Keith Instone usually gives us previews of BGSU games
so I thought I'd give mine of one of the top games in the
country pitting #3 Clarkson against #11 (?) St Lawrence for the
134th time. I'm sure this game will be of interest to not only
SLU and Clarkson fans but certainly has ramifications on the
rest of the ECAC.

A PREVIEW OF THE ST LAWRENCE-CLARKSON GAME

December 13,1991-7:30 PM
Cheel Arena in Potsdam

ST LAWRENCE 7-3-1, 5-1 in ECAC
CLARKSON 10-1, 6-0 in ECAC

SERIES HISTORY
134th meeting: Clarkson leads 83-44-6

1990-91 RESULTS: at Clarkson (CU 3-0), at St Lawrence (SLU 6-5 ot),
at Boston, ECAC finals (CU 5-4)

MISSING
CLARKSON-Ed Henrich, D (shoulder); Craig Conroy, C (knee);
Martin D'Orsonnens, D (tryout with Canadian Olympic Team)

INTRIGUING MATCHUPS (thanks to Dave Fischer's stats)
SLU	#1 in nation; goals scored per game
CU	#4 in nation; goals allowed per game

CU #2 in nation; goals scored per game
SLU	#15 in nation; goals allowed per game

SLU	#3 in nation; power play pct.
CU	#3 in nation; penalty kill pct.

ANALYSIS
All of a sudden, Clarkson's depth becomes terribly suspect with the loss
of D'Orsonnens, Conroy and Henrich. Fortunately, Scott Thomas will
return from a 2 game suspension. Clarkson did not look good in last
Saturday's OT win against RPI and will not be able to take as many
penalties against SLU's #3 in nation power play. SLU rebounded from
an unimpressive performance in the Ottawa tournament to score weekend
routs of RPI and Union. Clarkson's 27 (?) game home unbeaten streak
will receive one of its toughest tests on Friday night. The Cheel Arena
will certainly have over 4000 people (3000 seats) for this intriguing
matchup.

GOALIES
SLU- Jim Spagnoletti (sp?) and Brady Giroux
CU- Chris Rogles and Jason "Lamb" Currie
(if CU coach Mark Morris keeps his rotation, Currie will be in net for CU)
