...I asked a friend of mine who is typically "in the know" about
players. He informed me that Eric Soltys has quit from the team, due to
his lack of ice time... He was a freshman, playing behind a senior. I
watched him in warm-ups and he didn't impress me... I think he just
decided to quit because he didn't get his way...

...As for the back-up who played for the last 12 seconds, that was David
Armstrong. With the team without a back-up, due to Soltys' quitting and
Matile not being eligible until the following weekend, the Wildcats
seemed to be in a world of hurt. So where did they turn... UNH's club
sport team... They picked the best goalie they could find and made him
NCAA eligible for 2 games, until MAtile can be in the game...
...I'm certain that Umile said to the kid..."We'll dress you, but we
just need you as a warm body. There's no real chance of you playing..."
Well...Mr David Armstrong had his 12 seconds of fame, and thankfully,
faced no shots...

...Now, I would liek to say that this is not th word of God, but it is
from a person I trust to know the truth. My real question is, why not
have two back-ups like so many other teams???

...Also, does anyone know how UNH could make a player eligible for *2*
games...
