According to an article in the Minneapolis Star and Tribune this past
Sunday Steve DeBus is considering leaving the University of Minnesota.  A
problem arose when he didn't realize that his 50% scholarship was awarded
for the first 2 quarters of the year, instead of over the full 3 quarters.
(Minnesota is on a 3 quarter, plus ss system).  Thus when he went to pay
for his books he found no money in his scholarship account.  Doug Woog
pointed out that he had signed the form telling him how the money would be
distributed, and that he could make good money during the summer at his
hockey camp as a top goalie coach to cover college expenses.  (Mr. DeBus
said he wanted to work in the summer for spending money instead of money
for school)
 
The article also said that Minnesota is the only D1 hockey team without a
goalie on a full scholarship.  I was wondering how many Minnesota hockey
players are on scholarship.  I know that some are on 25% and 50%, but what
is the total number?  25? 30? With 18 scholarships divided up it makes for
a few more promises from Woog to work at his summer camp.
