I heard some other ECAC folks discussing this at Union this weekend, so just
in case anyone else was wondering:
 
This idea is dead in the water.  It came close to happening but was shot
down just before the beginning of the 1990-91 season.  I doubt it will ever
happen, at least not on a Hockey East-only basis.  Whether the NCAA will
ever vote as a whole to experiment with it is unknown but hopefully we'll
never see it.
