Miami stepped above MSU in the standings with an impressive 1-0 win on
saturday. Dispite the crowd booing ref. John Kelly as he left the ice, he did
and excellent job. My fellow Spartans had no reason to be upset with the
officiating. First of all, Kelly let the game be decided on the ice rather
than the box. MSU just couldn't connect on their chances. As for the end of
game activities. It all started when MSU would not let Miami "scalp" the ice.
When Miami finally decided to do it anyway, the tension over the shut-out
broke. First Tony Tuzzolino for MSU challenged a skater from Miami (I'm not
sure who). The Miami player wanted no part of Tuzz, but Dan Carter of Miami
and Tyler Harlton of MSU decided to drop the gloves. Carter didn't stand much
of a chance as Harlton mopped the ice with him. I watched this fight from
about 2 feet away and when it was over, you could see the blood dripping from
carters nose. I was actually mistaken for a Miami fan as someone threw
a cup of ice at me because I have a red jacket and my lucky hat I wear
to all the games is a red Habs hat. The way the MSU has been playing,
maybe I need a new good luck charm. Miami's coach, Mark Mazzoleni, attempted to
get his team to
the locker room. Mazzoleni then had words with MSU's Richard Keyes. Mazzoleni
held two fingers up obviously referring to Miami's sweep of MSU at Munn. Keyes
then use his stick to throw ice at Mazzoleni. I'm suprised that an all out
brawl did not start after this, but the refs. held Keyes off with the help of
Tony Tuzzolino and finally both teams left the ice. Dan Carter and Tyler
Harlton will obviously get a game suspension each, but from ref John Kelly's
reaction to the incident with Keyes, I wouldn't be surprised if he recieved a
suspension also.

I have yet to hear what the actual suspensions are so if anyone hears,
please post them.
