As Erik alluded to, the University of Minnesota just set their
ticket prices for the upcoming season.  Prices were increased
to fund the new arena as well as the normal athletic department
operating budget (football, basketball, and hockey are the
revenue producing sports).
 
The following is the survey information:
 
1.  The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers play in Mariucci
Arena adjacent to Williams Arena on the East Bank of the
Minneapolis campus.
 
2.  Single game reserved seats are $12 and general admission are
$10.  There are no single game student tickets.
 
3.  Season tickets for the general public are $264 and student
season tickets are $120.
 
4.  As Erik mentioned, games are only sold out for "big" series.
In the past this has included games with Wisconsin, Duluth, and
North Dakota.  The proximity of St. Cloud to the Twin Cities of
Minneapolis and St. Paul may well generate big crowds in the
future as the St. Cloud program continues to build.
 
5.  The phone number for the Athletic Ticket Office (for all
sports) is (612) 624-8080.
 
6.  As Mariucci and Williams Arenas reside in an old structure
there is NO SMOKING allowed in the arena.  Alcoholic beverages
are not sold, either (sorry Badgers). Some of the hockey crowd
stops at Stub and Herb's after games to imbibe.  Sterb's
is one block south on Oak Street at Washington Avenue.
 
7.  The arena is located at the corner of Oak Street and
University Avenue.  Take the University Avenue exit off of
I-35W and go east (it is a one-way street) about 1 mile.
The arena is on the north side of the street across from the
old Memorial Stadium (where OUTDOOR football used to be played
on beautiful fall afternoons).  There are several parking lots
in the vicinty which charge $3 on event days  (this may go up
this year, though).
