About 30 Maine hockey alumni, including seven former All-Americans,
gathered in the Orono area last weekend for golf, barbecues, fun and, of
course, a hockey game.  It was great to see the "old-timers" such as
Andre Aubut and Robert Lafleur displaying their talents with many of the
recent graduates, many of whom are now in some level of professional
hockey.  Coaches Walsh and Gendron also skated (Walsh was assessed a
"gross infraction" for an illegal stick).
 
Among the on-ice officials was Gary Thorne, a former Black Bear radio
announcer and long time booster of the program.  Gary now broadcasts for
ESPN (baseball) and the NJ Devils.
 
Great fun was had by all!  Relief at Sockolexis Memorial Arena on Indian
Island, from the 95 degree heat, was a treat!

   Smith, Dave Nonis, Rob Zamejc, Mike Golden, Mike McHugh, Robert
   LaFleur, Guy Perron, Claudio Scremin, Paul Giacalone, and Christian
   LaLonde.
 
White squad - Matt DelGuidice, Ray Roy, Bob Beers, Vince Guidotti, Chris
   Cambio, Peter Maher, David Capuano, Jon Leach, Jay Mazur, Ron Hellen,
   Jack Capuano, Bob Corkum, Dave Wensley, Bruce Major, and Mario Thyer
 
Final Score (2 25 minute periods): 12-11 White over Blue
Attendance: about 500
