MICHIGAN WINS SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE GREAT LAKES TITLE
STRETCH RUN BEGINS FOR HOME ICE IN CONGESTED CCHA
ANN ARBOR -- The Michigan Wolverines won their seventh straight Great Lakes
Invitational title to highlight holiday activity. Michigan State claimed
second place in the GLI, while Lake Superior was the runners-up in the Badger
Showdown. Ferris State won twice at Northern Michigan, with Notre Dame winning
two of three against Hockey East members Boston College and Mass.- Amherst.
Bowling Green, Illinois @ Chicago, Ohio State and Western Michigan all compiled
1-1 records over the holidays.
1995 kicks-off with nine conference games in four days. The only two-game set
has Miami visiting Western Michigan, while Illinois @ Chicago and Notre Dame
travel to Ohio State and Bowling Green on opposite nights. In other action,
Ferris State is at Michigan State on Friday, while the Bulldogs entertain Lake
Superior on Saturday. The Lakers play host to Team Canada on Friday in an
exhibition game and Michigan State on Monday. Team Canada visits Michigan on
Saturday for an exhibition contest.
