        Since I haven't seen anything from Bob G. or Walt O. I thought I'd
put in my 2cents worth about last weekends series vs. CC. In a nutshell
I thought we played terribly (and I understand why CC is #1.) Coach Mancinni
said after the first game on his radio show that it was the best game
we have played all season. I want to know which game he was watching.
Our passing was below average, we constantly shot the puck right into Bach
(this guy plsyed his position very well), and we took stupid penalties
(especially Jeff Mikesch who took 4 minors in the game.) If this was
our best game of the season then we're in deep trouble.
Saturday was just terrible. Allowing 3 power-play goals, 4
short-handed goals, and onr 4-on-4 goal. I'd complain about the officiating
but at least it was consistant. I would like to know why Mancinni insists
on keeping Liam Garvey and Mike Figliomini on the bench durring the power-play.
These guys have the two best slap shots on the team. Also, if Garvey played
the point instead of some Freshman forward, I highly doubt that we would
allow 4 short-handed goals in one game. I give CC all the credit in the
world for playing great hockey over the weekend, but I just wish that
Coach Mancinni would take a good look at his team and realize that he has
some good experienced players that are getting little to no playing time
and deserve better (Gavvey, Figliomini, and Martin Macachek.)
Finally I have one question about the two official system that the
WCHA is using. I know that they have the two officials to call penalties
and such but why were Shepherd and Schmitt always on the same side of the
ice and practially in the Linesman's way at the blue line last weekend. I
thought that when this rule started that the second offical would assume
the position of the second linesman on the other side of the blue line
and also call penalties.
