NMU has been struggling with consistency so far this season, and
although they swept UAA last weekend the team feels that they have along
way to go to move up in the WCHA standings. "Our thoughts going into
this weekend are on bringing our play back up," junior forward Kory
Karlander said. "Obviously we weren't happy with our play over the
weekend although we got the two wins." The Wildcats know they have their
work cut out for them this weekend. Denver has won 4 in a row and 6 of
their last 7. DU is returning home from a 9 to 4 victory over 7th ranked
Northeastern and a 4 to 3 overtime win against Boston College. The
Wildcats are led on offense by senior center Greg Hadden, he leads the
WCHA in points with 17 and goals with 10 and is second in overall points
with 19. To prepare for the series, NMU has bee preparing to combat the
effects of altitude. This is going to be a crucial series for both teams
to pull ahead in the WCHA standings.
