For the third straight year, Merrimack forward Quentin Fendelet
(Saskatoon, SASK) was named as the top scholar-athlete in Hockey East.
Fendelet, who graduated in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in
accounting, compiled a GPA of 3.88 during the 1993-94 school year,
highest in the league.
This makes the fourth straight year that Merrimack has had the player
with the highest GPA in HE. Former HOCKEY-Ler Guy Ragault, who
graduated in 1993 with a BS in electrical engineering, earned the
honor in 1990-91.
Of the 32 players named to the HE Academic Honor Roll for 1993-94, 9
were from Merrimack. Unofficially, this establishes a new league
record for most players placed on the team in one season. Merrimack
held the old record of 8, established in 1992-93.
The local paper only listed the Merrimack honorees. In addition to
Fendelet, they are (year in school is given for 1993-94):
Matt Adams, JR F, Andover, MA, 3.15, marketing
Rob Beck, FR F, Flin Flon, MAN, 3.18, business
