Tom Fitzgerald (NY Islanders, now with Florida) was drafted coming out of
high school in 1986 (Austin Prep) and attended Providence for two years.
 
 
Scott Lachance was not drafted until AFTER he spent his freshman year at BU.
The reason why he did not enter the NHL until a year later was because he
spent the next year on the Olympic team.
