First, I want to thank mike_m for his informative game
summaries for the BU/Mich series. Back in Ann Arbor,
our only reports come from the (U of)Michigan Daily Cheerleader.

Also, as I've done some ref bashing (Cole), I want to thank
Sheppard for the great job he did in this series. Having watched
Mich over the past 5 years, I know that their defensemen
in general should be wearing red plaid ... yes, its
lumberjack city back there. The only way to handle this
youthful Mich team is to send them off and tack on the
additional penalties when warranted. They have the makings
of a very good team, but must learn to control themselves.
Good hard checking is one of my favorite types of hockey,
even though it ended my career (broken hip & frac. vertabrae),
but UMich tends to quickly change from tight checking to
chippy stick swinging. A good application of a referee's
whistle can nip this in the bud. Again I'm glad to hear
about a ref doing a good job.

Lastly, somebody asked about Freshmen netminders, well
UMich only has Freshmen goalies (Shields & Gordon).

Congrats to BU and good luck in Minn!

A hockey fan,
Sean Hames
