As a Westerner not involved in the ECAC/HE rivalries, there were a few comments
I had to respond to...

Well, here's a few:  Minnesota (had to get that one in!), Michigan Tech,
Michigan, Michigan State, BU, BC, Colorado College, North Dakota...

I'm not that familiar with the other conferences, but I defy anyone to name a
"perennial doormat" in the WCHA.
 
I'm also quite puzzled by some comments (although I suppose this could be
because my imperfect memory prevents my relative lack of knowledge of Eastern
hockey from being completely remedied by reading hockey-l):

Pending results of the NC$$ investigation, I'd have to say that Parker had a
right to be upset by the alleged violations at Maine, but what "shameless
lobbying" is being referred to here?
