If I recall correctly, the International Hockey League dispenses with
overtime and moves directly from regulation to a shootout.  I think they
found that no one bothered to play for a win in overtime so they figured it
was unnecessary.  I'm going to wait to see  what happens during HE's experiment
before I make any judgments as to how shootouts will work in college hockey.
