From the possibly-peripherally-related-to-college-hockey department:
 
Saturday's _Ithaca Journal_ reported that Laing Kennedy, outgoing athletic
director at Cornell and former chair of the NC$$ ice hockey tournament com-
mittee, recently interviewed for the vacant AD job at Kent State and is one
of the four finalists.
 
Things might (or might not) get a little interesting if Kennedy actually
gets the job, since he's been active in Div. I hockey and was a supporter
of it at Cornell.
