Along with Bri, I was surprised that Martins was not on the list, but not
shocked as the Hobey list relies (IMO) a great deal on PR (partially because
many of the voters don't have the opportunity to see the various players in
action). Martins' bad luck with injuries the last two seasons has minimized his
coverage -- he's just not as well known. Now next year...
 
Little, as has been mentioned, (and with all due respect) benefits from the PR
machine, previous years' performances balancing out this years' uneveness.
 
My pick (based mostly on media/PR (-: ) is Oliver.
 
But I do think McCann, right now, is dominating games and playing as well as
I've seen a college defenseman play.
