This obviously isn't meant as a critique of what John wrote, but does it
seem a bit strange to anyone else that Tupper expected Carville to
step out of the usual administrative structure (i.e., sidestep his
athletic director) and go direct to the coaches?
 
Isn't it possible that Woody was not at fault because he was equally
traumatized, and thus forgot to notify those coaches?
 
I would conjecture at this point that although many of the original
errors may have been made in the office under Mr. Carville's supervision,
it would seem he may be being forced to shoulder more than his fair share
of the blame.
