BG beat Ferris State 3-0 in one of the most pathetic games I have ever
seen.
1st Period
     BORING except for when a puck came gunning at me, sorry I
dropped the puck , it was only going 60m.p.h. or so.  BG took a 1-0 lead
on a second rebound goal by Todd Reirden.  A 4 on 3 by BG results in a
goal a Reirden put the puck in the empty net after a Ferris player takes
Fry into Todd Lisko(Ferris netminder) anf the pile up leave the left side
of the net empty.  Reirden was the fourth man on the rush and no one was
there to cover him.  A total of 12 shots were taken in the period, and the
game was NOT tight checking. just lathargic(sp?).
2nd period
Nothing happened.  A couple of penalties a few shots and some poor lack of
offsides calls by the Shegoes(sp) brothers.
3rd period
One nice play by Tom Glantz results in the second goal.  He went from
Liskos right to left and in the act of flying through the air he
slides the puck by Lisko on the near side before his flight.  This makes
in BG 2-0.
An empty netter by Sean Pronger on a clearing attempt with eyes makes it
3-0.  And that is it 3-0.
Defenitely not playoff atmosphere as only 1436 people were at the game.
BG began by playing a slow game, and Ferris followed as both teams did
not want to make a mistake so there was a lot of dump and chase.
Ferris' powerless play was worse than ours.  They could not get the puck
into the BG zone often.  BG had more shorthanded shots than Ferris had
powerplay shots.  This style defenitely was to BG's avantage as we have
the speed advantage and that was what caused the two in net goals.  Thanks
you Miami for picking UAF as they would have CRUSHED us tonight.  Guess it
worked out both ways (so far).  Hope we come out like we mean it tommorow
or Ferris could score a couple of quick goals tommorow.  What happen at
East Lansing?  Just wondering.
