To quote a Hockey East News Release that was available at the PC-BU game
Friday night:
"In final action, the directors voted to suspend Maine from participation
in the Hockey East playoffs, beginning March 10th with the quarterfinal
best two-of-three series.
"The new playoff format gives the #1 seed, Boston University, the bye for
the quarterfinal round.  In remaining competition, the #2 seed will host
#7, the #3 seed will host #6 and the #4 seed will host #5."
