I dug out the MTU program, and Todd was absolutely correct with
regard to the way Damian Rhodes scored that goal.  It came against
Colorado College on 1/21/89, with 9 seconds left in the game - an EN
PPG.  MTU was up 4x3 but CC had pulled its goalie.  Rhodes' goal made
the final 5-2, and as he also had an assist in the game and stopped 91
of 97 shots on the weekend, he was named WCHA Player of the Week.
 
The MTU program also stated that "the goal is believed to be the first
in NC$$ history by a goaltender," but obviously Tortorella had already
done it about 8 years earlier.  BTW, thanks Arthur for that excerpt.
