Twins Chris and Peter Ferraro led the Maine Black Bears to a 9-5
win over the Northeastern Huskies at Harold Alfond Sports Arena on
the University of Maine campus Sunday afternoon in Hockey East
quarterfinal action. With the win, Maine captures the best of two
series and advances to the semi-finals.

Chris Ferraro led the Black Bears with five assists while brother
Peter Ferraro kept himself out of the penalty box to earn a hat
trick. Peter Ferraro entered the game with 98 penalty minutes to
his credit, four shy of former Black Bear Scott Smith's team record
102 penalty minutes, set during the 1985-86 season.

The Black Bears played sloppy defense the whole game. The game was
tied 2-2 in the first period, and after the Bears took a 7-3 lead,
Northeastern came back with two consecutive goals.

Maine will play Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. at the Boston Garden in the
first semi-final game.
