Before any more of you sharp-eyed and better-memoried folks out there
point it out, I am well aware that TCHCR is NOT a poll. Sorry about the
misstatement! I was one of those who engaged in TCHCR's and Keith
Instone's defense last year when the Albany columnist made his
off-the-wall criticisms of TCHCR. Anyway, I am looking forward to the
first edition of TCHCR, whenever it appears!

On a more serious note, especially to Wildcat fans, it was reported
yesterday that NMU Wildcat center Joe Frederick was injured again on
Saturday night and will have surgery on his leg shortly. Rick Comley
said on the early evening news that he doesn't expect Joe back until
mid-January. This is a tough blow to the Wildcats; Frederick is their
only veteran scorer, and his return for last weekend's series with
Minnesota was very important in the team's return to respectability. He
contributed, I believe, three goals and three assists in the Minnesota
series, and also was a force on defense.

"If we didn't have bad luck we wouldn't have any luck at all!" Did Casey
Stengle say that first?
