Fairbanks 4 1 0 5
Air Force 2 3 2 7

Finally!

Air force came out slowly and Fairbanks opened up a 2 goal lead in
under 2 minutes. When they got their third before the period was half
over, it started looking like it might be a long night. Air force
rallied to pull within 1, but a late goal by fairbanks put them up by
2 to end the stanza.

Fairbanks opened the gap to 3 in the 2nd, but about halfway through
the period air force came to life and in what was probablytheir best
10 minutes of the season, evened it up.

Air force kept the pressure in the third and finally scored about
midway through the period. An empty netter in the last few seconds
doubled the margin of victory.

Buzz Christianson called the game fairly loosely, and seemed to lose
control for a while in the second period, but cooler heads prevailed,
and the teams played hockey the rest of the night.
